Individual psychotherapy with Clinical Psychologist Selin Tutcu
Get in touch →Therapy as a space to think, feel, and come back to you
Therapy isn't a place to be figured out — it's a place to be understood. In a space that's unhurried and genuinely curious, we can look at what's been weighing on you, make sense of patterns you've lived inside for a long time, and find your way back to what matters.
THERAPIST INTRO
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST SELİN TUTCU
Registered in Turkey as Uzman Klinik Psikolog
Hello, I'm Clinical Psychologist Selin Tutcu. I completed my BA in Psychology at McGill University and my MSc in Clinical Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London. During my time in the UK, I worked in the National Health Service (NHS) as an assistant psychologist and mental health support worker. Currently, I work as a psychotherapist and Clinical Coordinator at Rupu Collective. In my practice, I mainly use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and FAP (Functional Analytic Psychotherapy), integrated with mindfulness. I offer therapy in both English and Turkish. My aim is to provide a warm, grounded and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences safely and work toward meaningful change.

MY APPROACH
Therapy rooted in ACT, FAP, and mindfulness
Every person brings their own story, their own pace. Rather than following a rigid protocol, I work with what's actually present — drawing primarily on ACT and FAP alongside mindfulness practices — all three centre values, relationships, and psychological flexibility.
Mindfulness
Bringing awareness to the present moment, with curiosity and without judgment.
Acceptance & Commitment (ACT)
Rather than fighting difficult thoughts, we build a life guided by what matters most.
Functional Analytic (FAP)
The relationship between us becomes a place to notice and work with patterns that show up in your other relationships.
Collaborative
Therapy is built with you, not delivered to you — shaped by what you need, at your pace.
FOR WHOM
This space is for you if you're navigating something meaningful, but hard to name.
You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis, a clear problem, or the right words. You just need to feel that something could be different.
Feeling stretched thin
You're doing your best to keep up, yet never feel fully caught up.
Always on edge
Anxiety, overthinking, or a constant sense of alertness has become exhausting.
Disconnected in relationships
You long for closeness, yet something gets in the way.
At a turning point
You're facing a life transition and unsure which way to go.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The first session is a chance for us to meet and begin to understand what's bringing you to therapy. We'll talk about what's been on your mind, what you're hoping for, and how I might be able to support you. There's no agenda you need to arrive with — it's okay if things feel a little uncertain.
Yes. I work with clients both in person in İstanbul and online. Online sessions are conducted through a secure, GDPR-compliant platform — a unique, private session link is generated for each appointment.
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly, especially at the start. Frequency can shift over time based on your needs and what we're working on together.
The relationship between a therapist and client matters enormously. I usually suggest giving things a few sessions before deciding — fit often takes a little time to settle. If at any point it doesn't feel right, I'd rather you say so. We can adjust our approach, or I can help connect you with a therapist who might be a better match.
Individual psychotherapy sessions are offered on a scale — 2,000–3,000 TRY for clients in Turkey and 75–80 EUR/USD for international clients. Fees are adjusted based on individual circumstances; please reach out to discuss what works for your situation.
Please let me know at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule — no charge applies. Cancellations between 24 and 48 hours are charged at 50% of the session fee. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full. Life sometimes doesn't cooperate — if something unexpected comes up, please reach out and we'll work something out.
There's no single answer. Some people find what they need in a focused few months; others prefer longer-term work. We'll check in regularly about how things are going and what feels right for you — there's no expectation to stay beyond what's useful.
My practice is not set up for crisis care or out-of-hours emergency contact. If you or someone you care about is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 112 (Turkey's emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency room. For non-emergency mental health support in Turkey, you can also call 183 (Aile, Çalışma ve Sosyal Hizmetler). International crisis resources can be found at findahelpline.com. During our work together, we'll talk about what support looks like outside our sessions — including who to reach out to if things feel urgent.

You don't have to figure this out alone.
If you're curious about whether therapy might help, or want to ask something before deciding, I'd welcome hearing from you. The first step is to send an application — I'll read it carefully and be in touch within a few days.
